We have been made aware that phone carrier T-Mobile has had a data breach
to their system causing possible cybersecurity threats. The breach took place on August 17, 2021 and they are currently investigating the situation to determine what exact data has been accessed by unauthorized individuals. T-Mobile does know that personal information, such as drivers’ licenses, Social Security numbers, and dates of birth, was included in the stolen data. Although their latest update

If you are a T-Mobile customer, we ask that you pay attention to your accounts even if you have not been identified by T-Mobile as an individual involved in the data breach. If hackers have even a small amount of information they could attempt to use it against you to gain more. Please keep the following in mind:
• Bank5 Connect will never initiate a phone call, email, or text message to you asking for your account information, sensitive personal information, or passwords.
• You can’t always believe caller ID or the “sender” name in an email. Scammers have been known to mask their phone numbers and email sender information to make it look like the communication is coming from a legitimate company.
